Funded by national resources, the 2nd CSF and the Stavros S. Ongoing collaboration with the Evripidis Koutlidis Foundation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Euripides Koutlidis Foundation and Collection are jointly housed and operate together with the National Gallery \u2013 Alexandros Soutsos Museum, following an agreement ratified by the Athens Court of Appeal. Artworks in the Koutlidis Collection are on display in the permanent display of the National Gallery \u2013 Alexandros Soutsos Museum Collections.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Merger of the Christos &amp; Souli Kapralos Foundation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After the merger of the Christos &amp; Souli Kapralos Foundation with the National Gallery \u2013 Alexandros Soutsos Museum, the foundation&#8217;s estate became part of the National Gallery. It comprises some 5,000 works by Christos Kapralos: sculptures in wood, bronze, marble, stone, paintings, microsculptures, terracottas, drawings, pottery, and more. The sculptor\u2019s studio on Aegina also came into the National Gallery, and today serves as the museum\u2019s annexe; similarly, an adjacent plot of land will host the new Christos Kapralos Museum. The studies were performed by architects George Parmenides, Professor, NTUA, and Christine Longu\u00e9p\u00e9e. The project is funded by the Attica Region and is currently in the bidding stage.<\/p>\n            <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n    <\/section>\r\n\n\n\r\n<section id=\"\" class=\"EssayMainBlock EssayAnchor\">\r\n        <div class=\"container\">\r\n        <div class=\"row center\">\r\n            <div class=\"main-title col-lg-8 col-12\">\r\n                <h2 class=\"Display_3\">Educational Programmes<\/h2>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n            <div class=\"info-text container\">\r\n        <div class=\"row\">\r\n            <div class=\"text col-lg-8 col-12\">\r\n                <p>Under Director Marina Lambraki-Plaka, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalgallery.gr\/en\/ekpaideusi\/\">education programmes<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0the National Gallery \u2013 Alexandros Soutsos Museum and Annexes\u00a0were introduced, aimed\u00a0at children, school groups and adults.<\/p>\n            <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n    <\/section>\r\n\n\n\r\n<section id=\"\" class=\"EssayMainBlock EssayAnchor\">\r\n        <div class=\"container\">\r\n        <div class=\"row center\">\r\n            <div class=\"main-title col-lg-8 col-12\">\r\n                <h2 class=\"Display_3\">Digital Gallery<\/h2>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n            <div class=\"info-text container\">\r\n        <div class=\"row\">\r\n            <div class=\"text col-lg-8 col-12\">\r\n                <p>Within the framework of Information Society and Digital Convergence EU Operational Programmes, the National Gallery \u2013 Alexandros Soutsos Museum and the Friends of the National Gallery received funding to implement the project that ushered the museum into the digital age. Thanks to this project, the National Gallery acquired an integrated digital management system for its Collections.<\/p>\n            <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n    <\/section>\r\n\n\n\r\n<section id=\"\" class=\"EssayMainBlock EssayAnchor\">\r\n        <div class=\"container\">\r\n        <div class=\"row center\">\r\n            <div class=\"main-title col-lg-8 col-12\">\r\n                <h2 class=\"Display_3\">Endowments-Donations-Inheritance Tax<\/h2>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n            <div class=\"info-text container\">\r\n        <div class=\"row\">\r\n            <div class=\"text col-lg-8 col-12\">\r\n                <p><strong>Purchases and Donations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In recent years, some 3,000 works have been acquired by the National Gallery \u2013 Alexandros Soutsos Museum, including\u00a0<i>Saint Peter<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0<i>The Burial of Christ<\/i>, two paintings by Domenikos Theotokopoulos, whose acquisition was made possible by a nation-wide fundraising campaign and sponsorship; newly acquired sculptures include Auguste Rodin\u2019s\u00a0<i>Walking Man on a Column<\/i>, donated by the National Bank of Greece, and Antoine Bourdelle\u2019s\u00a0<i>Head of Apollo<\/i>. Acquisitions that enrich the National Gallery\u2019s Collections have also been made with support by Alpha Bank and the Antonios Komninos Foundation. The National Gallery has received substantial donations from a number of artists and foundations, including\u00a0Joannis Avramidis, Panagiotis Tetsis, Nikos &amp; Angela Nikolaou Foundation, Dimitris Mytaras, Alekos Fassianos, Daniel, Jason Molfessis, Fernando Bot\u00e9ro, Theodoros (Papagiannis), Theodoros (Papadimitriou), Pavlos and Santiago Calatrava. Donations have also been made by many private individuals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Estates and Tax<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Frosso Efthymiadi-Menegaki Estate, comprising the artist\u2019s body of sculpture, as well as her house in Galatsi, Athens, designed by pre-eminent Greek architect Dimitris Pikionis, where the sculptress\u2019s museum will be housed. Renovation is now complete, and the building is being prepared for opening.\u00a0The estate comes with revenue to cover the museum\u2019s maintenance.<\/li>\n<li>The Bella Raftopoulou Estate. The sculptress\u2019s residence, which is intended to house a museum of her works, has been restored.<\/li>\n<li>Sixteen paintings by Konstantinos Parthenis were acquired as estate tax.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n            <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n    <\/section>\r\n\n\n\r\n<section id=\"\" class=\"EssayMainBlock EssayAnchor\">\r\n        <div class=\"container\">\r\n        <div class=\"row center\">\r\n            <div class=\"main-title col-lg-8 col-12\">\r\n                <h2 class=\"Display_3\">Exhibition Activity<\/h2>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n            <div class=\"info-text container\">\r\n        <div class=\"row\">\r\n            <div class=\"text col-lg-8 col-12\">\r\n                <p>Under Director Marina Lambraki-Plaka, many temporary exhibitions were organised in Greece and other countries, increasing the museum&#8217;s visibility and fostering collaboration with international museums. These exhibitions brought more than 5.5 million visitors to the National Gallery.
