National Gallery – Nafplion Annex

The annex of the National Gallery – Alexandros Soutsos Museum in Nafplio organizes the exhibition “Description of human bodies-Modern Greek painting from the Collection of Sotiris Felios”, in which the protagonist is the human body, a subject that preoccupied artists of all peoples and all times. Its transformations embody the spirit of the period, the worldview, the ideology, the aesthetics, and of course the concern and anxiety of the creator.

The exhibition presents seven artists: Stephanos Daskalakis (1952), Michalis Manousakis (1953), Tasos Mantzavinos (1958), Christos Mpokoros (1956) Chronis Botsoglou (1941), George Rorris (1963) and Edouardos Sakagian (1957).

Sotiris Felios belongs to a special category of collectors. He falls in love with the works that buys and wants to get them so as to constantly enjoy them. The concession of works of his collection to the Annex of Nafplion confirms his desire to share with the public the pleasure given by the works of his collection.
