National Gallery – Nafplion Annex

The exhibition presents thirty-eight watercolors of Paris Prekas, which reveal spring images of Greek nature, images of an unparalleled beauty.
These artworks belong to the National Gallery’s unknown treasures that are due to the generous offer of the artist Meropi Preka, the Pari’s wife. These “travel” painting testimonies compose a travelogue to a country that the artist hustled to “rescue” from the threat of the unsettled development: “During the breaks of my everyday work, at the atelier, I grab my water colors and I travel around Greece, looking for it’s soul, before she dies and loses it, since I see Greece is aging. ”
