Through the close observation of artworks from the National Gallery’s permanent collection spanning the late 15th to the mid-20th century, we will be exploring with students how artists have represented nature and space. Guided by the artworks and our own imagination, we will journey through both familiar and unfamiliar places and landscapes in Greece, discovering the role of light, colour, composition and technique in the work of major Greek painters.
